Silver-based inorganic
antibacterial agent "Apacider"
Anti-discoloration performance of industrial antibacterial agents
Light resistance test method
【Evaluation methods】
Antibacterial processed products can be used not only indoors but also outdoors. Products installed outdoors are particularly susceptible to the effects of ultraviolet rays and infrared rays from sunlight, and their appearance changes rapidly and deteriorates. Therefore, excellent discoloration resistance is required in selecting antibacterial agents.
In the light resistance test, a light source similar to sunlight is artificially created and applied to a sample to evaluate the discoloration of antibacterial processed products in a short time.
【Test conditions】
・ UV carbon arc lamp 254 nm
UV intensity: 3500μW / cm 2
* The test results shown below are representative and are not guaranteed.
【Evaluation criteria】
Check visually for any discoloration.
PP plate
The PP plate to which AW (0.5%) was added did not show any discoloration even after one week of UV irradiation, whereas the other company's products were confirmed to have discoloration. AW was able to keep the appearance of the product beautiful.

Discoloration resistance test against leaving food
Antibacterial processed products are not limited to general industrial products, but can also be used for kitchen utensils and packaging materials that come into contact with food. Specifically, there are plastic cutting boards, sponges, draining bags, film wrapping materials, etc. Especially, plastic cutting boards have many opportunities to come into contact with food, and microorganisms such as bacteria and mold on the surface are easy to grow, and due to microorganisms Discoloration leads to deterioration of the appearance. Therefore, in selecting an antibacterial agent, excellent antibacterial performance and discoloration resistance are required.
