Silver-based inorganic
antibacterial agent "Apacider"
Substitute of cosmetics preservative
Overview
In recent years, interest in and demand for hypoallergenic and hypoallergenic cosmetics has increased due to an increase in skin problems caused by cosmetics. For this reason, cosmetic products such as fragrance-free, color-free, paraben-free, non-alcohol, and former labeling ingredients 1) are notable for product labels. A typical example is the preservative paraben, which is an old label component that may cause skin problems. The effect of the human body is attracting attention in the EU due to the action of endocrine disruptors (commonly known as environmental hormones) 2) .
However, the role of preservatives is important. This is because if cosmetic contamination and growth occur in cosmetics, it will cause changes such as breakage, discoloration, and odor. As a result, not only the commercial value is lost, but the components decomposed by microorganisms may cause dermatitis.
Therefore, preservatives and bactericides are included in cosmetics as a measure against microbial contamination.
Apasider is an inorganic antibacterial agent in which metallic silver is supported on calcium phosphate, typified by hydroxyapatite, and it is required for antiseptics. It is effective at low concentrations, has a wide antibacterial spectrum, and is highly safe. Each condition is provided.
